"Autumn Surf" Horsetooth Reservoir

If you’ve spent time on Horsetooth Reservoir, you know storms can roll in quickly and without warning. Rainbows, mammatus clouds, and all kinds of atmospheric magic are surprisingly common.

I was out wake surfing with friends on a hot day in early October when we watched the sky suddenly change. Dark indigo and grey clouds filled the sky. Everything moved and swirled on all sides of us, and yet we were perfectly protected right in the pocket.

So of course - we took a few pictures and kept surfing.
